Welcome!
Welcome to my site! The main contents of this site are to record daily thoughts and articles written in foreign languages I have learned or am learning. There are two goals for Lingualog.
First of all, it tries to record the process how language get progress and I believe it will be an exciting task. We may all write some articles when learning languages, long or short. However, most of them are dumped into Garbage in the end. Although some of them seem boring in that they focus mainly on the test topics, yet they are witnesses of our growth, which are valuable, precious and worth recording, in the target language.
Secondly, this site is also a test field to practice my advanced writing competence and to be a journal for my daily life. Several years ago, I have found an article I wrote when I was 15 years old. It is about an English speech contest and the summary of my failure, the winner and the prejudice against the people possessing unique personalities. The thoughts, words, and expressions in the text are of course naïve, but through the article I could recall the events and feel what I felt then again. It is priceless fortune of life, or, in other words, the regain of memories is a generous gift of life. Hence, I would collect and post them here as documentation to build up a home for memories.
Based on the two goals mentioned, the contents of this site, therefore, would be a little bit messy. Yes, it surely does, for it's a "log". A log means people could write anywhere and anytime without hesitation or limitation and could focus only on the instant feelings and contents. Accumulative logs would then become the most important elements of a complete and mature articles in the future, which I would post on my main sites. From this perspective, this site is also a draft database of my writing. However, the logs here will be far tidier and better organized, and will also exist longer than a draft.
Since the writing consists mainly of foreign languages, typos, grammatical and expressional errors would be unavoidable. However, I would try my best to make it less . If you could point them out and give me your suggestion, it will be my great honor!
p.s. If you are also interested in other articles written in my mother tongue, you are absolutely welcome to my main blog in Chinese 雷子的小站, and to my blog discussing translation 译log.
Wish you a good travel in my contents!
